Movie stars have started to arrive on the red carpet for this year’s Oscars.
From Demi Moore and Selena Gomez in glittering sequin gowns to White Lotus star and singer Lisa in an unusual combination of a tuxedo and dress, the stars knew how to turn heads.
Carpet antics over, time for the main event

Snazzy suits galore
The male celebrities also took centre stage for the huge awards finale.
Adrien Brody is the only acting nominee this year who has previously won an Oscar.
And Andrew Garfield steered away from a traditonal black suit and rocked brown trousers, a satin shirt and matching jacket.
Creativity blossoms
Hollywood’s biggest night is a chance for designers to show off ultimate creativity and celebrities to flaunt the designs.
Whoopi Goldberg was dressed in a Christian Siriano gown and gave an update on Sister Act 3.
More than four years after she first confirmed the film was in the works, she shared where the movie-making progress is at following the death of co-star Maggie Smith.
“I had hoped to get it done before Maggie passed, and we weren’t able to do that,” Goldberg said on the red carpet.
“But they have the script now, so fingers are crossed.”
Zoe Saldana looked mesmerising in an elegant layered burgundy dress. She is up for best supporting actress in Emilia Perez.
And Rachel Zegler channelled her inner princess, she is Snow White after all, in a pearlescent Dior gown.
Music stars in the house
Miley Cyrus graced the red carpet in a sparkling black halter neck gown. Her brunette hair was styled perfectly.
Doja Cat opted for a leopard print bodice-hugging gown while British singer Raye captured attention in a stunning bright red dress.
Aussie talent dress to impress
Guy Pearce arrived in a dapper black suit and black bow tie. The Brutalist star is up for an Academy Award for the first time.
Meanwhile, Jacki Weaver stunned in a white ensemble.
Timothee Chalamet talks Bob Dylan
The actor stars in new film A Complete Unkown which details Bob Dylan’s early life and the making of a revolutionary talent.
Chalamet told reporters on the red carpet he spent five years preparing for the role and “left no stone unturned”.
The actor also live sings in the film.
He is nominated for best actor.
Silver a popular choice
Demi Moore and Felicity Jones on the Oscars red carpet graced the red carpet in Giorgio Armani.
Both nominees chose silver Armani dresses while Mindy Kaling chose a silver leaf detail halter-neck from Oscar de la Renta.
Eye-popping looks
Timothee Chalamet demanded attention in a creamy yellow suit.
Selena Gomez was declared the “people’s princess” in a sparkling bedazzled gown.
K-pop star Lisa wore an interesting black and white tuxedo dress.
Wicked star Cynthia Erivo turned heads in a gorgeous black gown.
Arrivals off to a strong start
Among the early arrivals, Ariana Grande did her Glinda proud in a pale pink stunner on the Oscars red carpet as glam got off to a strong start.
Others went for bold red, classic black and pops of pink.
Grande wore a look from the Schiaparelli spring-summer 2025 collection.
It was a perfect Glinda ode with no straps and a structured skirt that fell into airy pleats.
