Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz have reportedly told friends they are thrilled with the world’s reaction to their ongoing family saga.

Making their first public outing since Brooklyn’s viral Instagram statement denouncing his parents, the pair left their Malibu hideaway to take a stroll on the beach with their dog Lamb.

Though they haven’t made public comments since the Monday bombshell, they have reportedly been talking to their friends.

Sources close to the couple have revealed that they are more than pleased with the fallout.

“They couldn’t be happier with how things have panned out,” the source told The Sun.

“They told us, ‘We’re glad we did it’.”

In a viral statement earlier this week, Brooklyn tore into his family, accusing them of being obsessed with publicity while defending the woman he said is the most important person in his life, Nicola.

Since then, it is understood the pair have not been in contact with either of his parents, David and Victoria Beckham.

“This has just made things even clearer to him — he wants nothing more to do with his parents,” the source said.

“It’s been therapeutic to finally get things off their chests which they’ve been bottling up for years.

Since the statement was posted on Monday, the couple have been staying in a more discreet Malibu residence, about 40km from their Beverly Hills mansion.

With speculation running rampant, the internet has divided into team Brooklyn, and team Beckham family.

Brooklyn’s own sibling, Cruz, has added fuel to rumours by teasing a song titled Loneliest Boy believed to be about his brother stepping away from the family.

His ex-girlfriend Tallia Storm, a singer from the UK, spoke out in support of Brooklyn, adding that she herself had experienced some publicity crazed moments at Victoria’s hand.

When she invited Brooklyn to her gig back in 2014, when they were teenagers, Victoria reportedly had the venue checked through.

“Victoria sent a security team during the day to check the venue”, she said.

“I thought it’s not that deep, but er, OK! When we went to the gig that night, Brooklyn came in with my sister as I was sound-checking - and then when we left with his security, there were like 20 paparazzi outside.”

“Every time I’ve seen (Brooklyn), years on, he’s so cool, so lovely, no big deal. But that’s the example of a PR storm that was just so… unnecessary.”

“It’s always made me look like I was some sort of fame-hungry wannabe. It’s like a bit of a sticky web and not something I ever want to engage in.”

Similarly, when Nicola married into the family in 2022, she was accused of being in it for the spotlight.

Commentators have labelled Brooklyn just about everything, from a fame-hungry nepo baby to a victim of an overexposed childhood with no control.

And the resurfacing of old clips and red carpet moments has only added fuel to the fire.
