Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster have made their red carpet debut as a couple, about a year after rumours of their relationship first emerged.

The 57-year-old Australian actor and 50-year-old American star appeared together at the Hollywood premiere of Jackman’s new film Song Sung Blue, where they couldn’t stop laughing and smiling.

Jackman wrapped his arm around Foster as they posed for photographers, while Foster didn’t leave his side and beamed with happiness.

The pair painted a glamorous image together arriving in simple but complementary black outfits; a suit and tie for Jackman and a silky slip dress for Foster.

Jackman stars alongside Kate Hudson in Song Sung Blue, a musical drama that tells the true story of Mike and Claire Sardina who formed the Neil Diamond tribute band Lightning & Thunder.

Jackman and Foster’s red carpet debut comes after the actors have been photographed at several events in recent days since rumours of their romance swirled last year.

Neither celebrity has yet addressed the new romance but they have known each other for a long time through their shared passion for musical theatre and worked together in Broadway’s The Music Man.

Speculation about their relationship grew after they were seen holding hands and kissing in Los Angeles in January.

And last week, the duo attended the Fetch Pet Gala and Richard Marx’s After Hours Confessions show during a visit to New York.

Jackman shocked fans when he split from fellow Aussie star Deborra-Lee Furness in 2023 after being married for 27 years and raising two children.

“We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” they said in a joint statement at the time.

“Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”

Furness later filed for divorce in May this year and released her own statement on the situation.

“My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal,” she said.

“It’s a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working for us.”

Meanwhile, Foster was married to US screenwriter Ted Griffin for 10 years until 2024.
