Keith Urban is proving that laughter might just be the best post-breakup medicine.

The country star poked fun at his very public split from Nicole Kidman during his final High and Alive World Tour show in Nashville on Friday, cracking up both himself and the crowd with a quick bit of improv.

In a viral TikTok clip from the performance, the 57-year-old stopped mid-show to chat with an audience member, asking for her name. When the fan replied, her voice didn’t carry over the microphone, prompting Urban to tease, “What? I’m not going to like your name? What?”

When the woman finally shouted back — “Nicole!” — the crowd roared. Urban dropped dramatically to the stage floor, lying flat for a few seconds as the arena erupted in laughter and applause. He then threw his arm up in mock frustration, grinning as the joke landed.

The moment came just weeks after Kidman filed for divorce from Urban on September 30, ending their 19-year marriage.

According to court filings, she cited “irreconcilable differences” and requested to be the primary residential parent of their daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

The filing revealed their separation date as the day of the paperwork, the same day they announced the split. News.com.au reported that the pair had been living apart “since the beginning of summer,” with Kidman staying in their Nashville home while Urban moved into a nearby property.

“Kidman is holding the family together through this difficult time since Keith has been gone,” one insider told the outlet, referencing the singer’s months-long tour.

Even so, Urban seems determined to keep his spirits and sense of humour intact.

Despite the heartbreak, fans at the concert said Urban appeared upbeat and deeply grateful, pausing multiple times to thank the audience for their support over the years. Between songs, he shared brief reflections on “new chapters” and “moving forward,” hinting at a sense of closure rather than bitterness.

His resilience drew loud cheers from the crowd, many of whom shouted words of encouragement and waved signs reading

“We love you, Keith.”

For a performer who’s built a career on heart and authenticity, it was a powerful reminder that even after personal loss, the show and the healing must go on.
