Netflix star Kim Sae-ron has been found dead, aged just 24, following years outside of the public eye after a drink driving charge.

The South Korean actress, a star of the streaming services hit series Bloodhounds, was found dead in her home on Sunday, discovered by a friend.

“We have not found any signs of foul play as of yet, but we are investigating the circumstances of the death,” South Korean police told local media.

Sae-ron entered the entertainment industry at age nine, rising to stardom in films including The Man From Nowhere and The Neighbour.

After years of success, the actress took a step back from the industry following a drunken car crash in 2022.

The star was charged $20 million won ($22,000), before stepping away from a TV drama series Trolley that she was part of.

Sae-ron’s role in Netflix’s Bloodhounds was reportedly reduced following her charge.

Fans posted tributes to the star on X, sharing their love along with criticism over the reaction to the star’s drink-driving charge.

“It’s really so sad to see such a young soul pass away at the age of 24. May she rest in peace,” one wrote.

“Another life lost due to Korean bullying at 24. DUI case didn’t end her life. (The) blacklisting from acting or posting pics was a huge crime. Be kind and learn to forgive people.” wrote another.
