Kyle and Jackie O show cancelled: Warning signs the episode was doomed from the start
The radio hosts have since confirmed their split, with some industry experts saying it had been a long time coming.
Kyle Sandilands’ on-air tirade was described as a “total attack” by his former radio co-host Jackie “O” Henderson.
The explosive exchange took place on February 20, when Sandilands initially took issue with Henderson’s “fixation” on astrology before the conversation turned personal.
He accused her of being “off with the fairies” and claimed she was failing to do her job adequately.

The pair have since confirmed their split, although some industry experts say it had been a long time coming.
On the day in question, Sandilands first criticised Henderson after she read through Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s astrology chart in response to news of his arrest.
However, listening back to earlier parts of the episode, there were signs Sandilands was already in a combative mood — and Henderson wasn’t the only target.

How the show started
Sandilands opened the episode by claiming Henderson had passed on her “disgusting lurgy sore throat” to him, his wife Tegan and their son Otto.
He then turned to staffer Peter Deppeler, also known as “Intern Pete”, as the team discussed technical issues with the show’s audio levels.
“You just answer the phone, it’s not a hard job,” Sandilands said.
“I don’t speak unless I know I’m right.
“Now sit down, I don’t know why you’re standing up.”
Sandilands then directed his attention to the broader team, warning them to “up their game”.
“I might as well tell you guys now so you don’t wait for a meeting next week,” Sandilands said on the episode.
“I told Bruno [Bouchet, Sandilands’ manager and the show’s executive producer] yesterday, everyone needs to up their game.
“You’re on the biggest show and you’re all bludging here, doing hardly anything.”
Sandilands then returned his attention to Deppeler, asking about his recent work.

“Pete, when was the last time you went to a red carpet event and recorded something?” Sandilands questioned.
After some back and forth, Sandilands claimed: “We’re onto you that you’re doing hardly any work, you spend most of your time here eating and then down at the gay sauna.”
The team attempted to defend themselves, saying they had been banned from recent red carpet events.
“Elevate problems to me, instead of letting the show turn into a piece of s**t,” Sandilands warned the wider team.
“Does everyone understand?”
When only two people responded, Sandilands added: “What about the other eight people, just too scared to speak?”
He then continued his tirade, trying to get to the bottom of the red carpet access issue while putting his team on the spot on-air.
“Normally, this stuff would be done after the show in a meeting, but who’s got the time to hang around.”
