Beyonce faced a horrifying moment during her hometown concert in Houston on Saturday night.

The singer was catapulted into the air in a red convertible as a part of her performance of country hit 16 Carriages.

The vehicle was intended to make its way around the venue to allow the legions of fans who attended the show to get a closer look at the star, but the car began leaning to one side and came to a complete stop.

After the first verse of the song, Beyonce was heard yelling “stop” multiple times as the car continued to lean.

Crew members rushed over and lowered the car to the ground, safely removing the singer.

The star continued the concert as planned, taking a moment to joke to attendees afterwards that she “knew y’all would catch (her) if (she) fell”.

After the show, Beyonce’s team Parkwood Entertainment released a statement addressing the incident.

“Tonight, in Houston, at NRG Stadium, a technical mishap caused the flying car, a prop Beyonce uses to circle the stadium, and see her fans up close, to tilt,” the statement said.

“She was quickly lowered and no one was injured. The show continued without incident.”

Fans quickly took to social media to express their concerns for the Cowboy Carter singer.

“We were all scared for her and the many people that could’ve been lost or seriously injured,” one concertgoer posted.

“Her ability to smile through the chaos and still continue the performance as if she didn’t just experience a scare is truly remarkable, she is a gem,” another fan said of the incident.

“Hope Beyonce takes proper precautions from now on,” a third fan posted.

Beyonce has eight shows left of her Cowboy Carter tour, which wraps up in Las Vegas in July.
