The second performance was a major change from the 'dead' performance of night 1.

It seems the crowd of Melbourne’s The Weeknd night one concert will have to save their tears for another day.

The Canadian singer, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, kicked off his Australian After Hours Till Dawn tour at Marvel Stadium on Saturday to divided reviews.

However Tefayne did not make the same mistake twice, adjusting his show to address the major complaints and delivering an “electric” second show on Sunday.

Naturally, seeing footage from Sunday’s show left Saturday concertgoers upset and demanding refunds.

The complaints began to mount when fans at the Saturday’s show hit social media after the concert wrapped, writing that it did not meet expectations and was a different experience from what they had seen of his overseas performances.

The Weeknd has used a Melbourne Landmark to announce dates for his upcoming world tour.

Specifically, there were no fireworks, Marvel Stadium was enclosed, the crowd was “dead” and the fan-favourite closing song of Moth To A Flame was not performed.

“The crowd was so dead, but I loved Abel anyways,” one fan said on TikTok.

“Worst crowd,” a second agreed as another said, “Why no Moth To A Flame!? This was nothing like his other shows!”

“We all deserve a refund if that’s what night 1 got — 1. Late. 2: Closed Roof. 3: Rushed songs. 4: No fireworks. 5: No good closing. And mainly no Moth to A Flame. We deserved BETTER! So disappointed,” an upset fan said.

However night two appeared to be a different experience entirely, with Sunday night’s show appearing to address the problems fans expressed online.

Footage emerged late Sunday night and early Monday showcasing the open roof performance with fireworks.

Tesfaye even went beyond curfew to play Moth To A Flame for his fans — who naturally went ballistic.

“I think we’re past curfew but I can do one more maybe? Make some noise!” he said to the crowd.

Night one fans were seen all throughout the comments online, expressing their disappointment that they had a different experience.

“Bruhh I’m punching the air rn, where was this on n1,” one said.

“WHAT THE HELL???? WE DID NOT GET THIS YESTERDAY,” a second said.

“WHAT nah I feel cheated from night 1, I’m so upset,” added another.

Meanwhile devoted fan who went to both shows weighed in: “I went to both shows and all I can say is n2 killed it it was amazingggg.”

The last time The Weeknd performed in Australia was seven years ago and his new shows come after the tour was first postponed in November last year due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

All dates were then cancelled in April before new dates were announced.
