Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban divorce: Sources claim country music star has been going through personal struggles
After nearly 20 years of marriage, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have officially pulled the trigger on a divorce, and speculation is intensifying over what led to the high-profile breakup.
Kidman filed for divorce from Urban on Tuesday (US time), citing irreconcilable differences, just one day after it was confirmed the couple had separated earlier in the US summer.
The filing marks the end of a relationship that began in 2005 and produced two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.

“He’s been going through some stuff,” a source within Urban’s circle revealed to People.
A separate source close to Kidman echoed that sentiment.
“He has been making questionable choices for some time now and wasn’t just a case of them drifting apart.”

It comes as another source claimed to the Daily Mail that Urban has already moved on with a younger woman in the music industry.
“The rumour is that he’s with a younger woman in the business. It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery,” the Nashville music business PR source revealed to the outlet.
It is understood that the Oscar-winning actress had been trying to hold the marriage together.
“She didn’t want this,” the source added.
“She has been fighting to save the marriage.”
Kidman and Urban got married in June 2006, tying the knot at St Patrick’s Estate in Manly.

Only three months after their nuptials, Urban checked himself into rehab for drug and alcohol issues at the request of Kidman. He later told Rolling Stone in 2014 that he was “very, very blessed” that his wife urged him to enter rehab.
“I have a wife who is just from another planet. She is so celestial. I say that I was born into her,” Urban told the outlet. “That is the best way I can describe how I feel about her and us.”
Speaking at South by Southwest in March 2018, Urban again opened up about his journey to sobriety, crediting Kidman.
“My life was getting smaller and smaller and that is how I kept it manageable. I was lucky I had a very loving wife. (Getting sober) has freed me up creatively.”
