Bridgerton London premiere: Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton dazzle with cast on red carpet
Bridgerton’s leading couple Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton dazzled at London’s premiere of the blockbuster period drama’s second segment of its third season amid a slick parade of stylish stars on the red carpet.
Coughlan, 37, showed off her curves in an off-the-shoulder pink gown featuring sequins and a floral lace decolletage while Newton, 31, took a fashion forward stance with a futuristic-style jacket decorated with embroidered flowers as well as a pair of co-ordinated oversized trousers.
Leading lady Coughlan stayed on brand with her character Penelope Featherington with her gown’s plunging neckline, but Newton’s decision to go shirtless under his blazer meant she wasn’t the only one daring to bare.

It followed Coughlan’s hints at the steamy scenes in the third season, at one stage telling Entertainment Weekly that “We did break a piece of furniture while doing one scene. It’s a little bit like a stunt in which they’re like, ‘Okay, we’re gonna do this, this and this’.”
They also revealed on the UK’s One Show that the famous carriage scene involving the pair that ended the first half of the third season was a two-day job.
“For a five-minute scene, I think it took us two days,” Newton told interviewers.
Coughlan quickly added: “We were filming the scene, and it was intimate, and we knew that there were certain points we had to hit, but then, we were doing the kissing, and (the director’s) not calling ‘cut’.
“In my head I was going: ‘This is really long, this feels really long’.
“So then it ended, and the set was dead silent, and ... then the director comes over to the window of the carriage ... and he was like ‘I was shouting: ‘Cut! Stop!’ We genuinely couldn’t hear anything. It was like soundproof.”
