Australian actor Patrick Bramall joins the cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2, playing Anne Hathaway's love interest in the highly anticipated sequel releasing 20 years after the original.

Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway has addressed rumours surrounding her ‘facelift’, revealing the simple trick behind her age-defying appearance.

The Devil Wears Prada star confirmed she has not gone under the knife, instead crediting a certain hairstyle for creating the look of taut skin.

“These are huge medical decisions that people are presuming,” Hathaway told Elle magazaine this month.

“I wanted to show that like, no, I didn’t make a huge medical decision. It’s just two braids.”

She explained the hairstyle works by pulling the hair tight to create the illusion of a more sculpted face.

Hathaway, 43, also shared a video on Instagram showing the trick her hairstylist uses to give her face a subtle lift — two small braids near each temple that are pulled back and pinned.

Rumours have swirled in recent months suggesting Hathaway had undergone a facelift.

The mum-of-two said while she has not had cosmetic surgery, she would not rule out procedures in the future.

“And by the way, the other thing about all this is, I might still get a facelift someday,” Hathaway added.

Although Hathaway said she generally avoids publicly commenting on her appearance, she felt compelled to address the speculation.

“We’re at a time when people feel very confident in assuming what they think is fact, and sometimes what they think is accurate and sometimes it’s not,” she told Elle.

“My preference would be to never comment on anything and to just live in the mystery and not draw attention to myself.”

She said the speculation has grown to a point she felt the need to address it as it was becoming “distracting”.

Hathaway admitted maturity has helped her better handle the scrutiny that comes with being in the spotlight, saying her younger self may not have coped as well.

“I shudder at the thought that I might have inadvertently been harsh with other people while I was being harsh with myself. I actually get nauseous thinking about it,” she said.
