WWE legend Hulk Hogan has died, TMZ reports.

The 71-year-old — who was regarded as the most recognisable wrestling figure in the world — reportedly suffered cardiac arrest on Thursday.

It’s understood emergency services were dispatched to his home early in the morning before he was stretchered into an ambulance.

Hogan, known for his trademark bandana, sunglasses and horseshoe moustache, rose to prominence when he signed with World Wrestling Entertainment in 1983, where he went on to become a 12 time world champion.

The sports entertainer — who also forged a career in film, television and reality TV — was named the second best professional wrestler of all time by Sports Illustrated in 2024.

Hogan, who also performed across rival brands World Championship Wrestling, TNA and New Japan World Wrestling, last competed in the ring in 2011.

His final WWE appearance came earlier this year in January on the Netflix debut of Monday Night Raw in California, where he was booed out of the arena because of his vocal support of US President Donald Trump.

Hogan’s tragic death comes just one month after he was forced to deny that he was on his deathbed.

Speculation grew that the star’s health was deteriorating after he was hospitalised for ongoing neck and back issues, however a representative for Hogan told E! News that there was “no reasons to panic”.
