The father of LMFAO singer Lauren Bennett has shed light on the final months before her death while firing a shot at the health professionals he alleges “failed to treat her appropriately during her time of greatest need”.

Bennett died aged 36 on May 29, with her former G.R.L. band mates revealing she had passed earlier this week.

On Tuesday, Richard Bennett expressed his grief in the loss of his beloved daughter, describing her as “the love of my life and my pride and joy”.

He described the health battle she had faced earlier this year.

“Months before her death, Lauren experienced a severe reaction to a prescribed medication. As a family, we all rallied around her and did everything we could to support her,” he shared to Instagram.

“We have no suspicions regarding the circumstances of her death, only deep disappointment that, for five months, medical professionals and NHS services failed to treat her appropriately during her time of greatest need.

“Lauren was deeply loved and will be missed every day for the rest of our lives. I hope she will be remembered for her remarkable achievements, her beautiful music, and the incredible person she was. Her legacy lives on through her daughter, her family, and through the music she leaves behind.”

Mr Bennett said his daughter’s achievements in music had exceeded her family’s expectations, with the late singer performing professionally from the age of 12.

“As we navigate this unimaginable loss, we kindly ask for privacy and respect as our family grieves. We are deeply grateful for the love, support, and kindness shown by friends, fans, and everyone else who has reached during this incredibly difficult time,” he concluded.

Bennett was a member of Paradiso Girls between 2007-10, sang on LMFAO’s 2011 hit Party Rock Anthem, and performed as a member of G.R.L. who were last active in 2021.

G.R.L. had also dealt with the passing of founding singer Simone Battle in 2014.

“It is great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren,” the all-female group shared to social media earlier this week.

“Our heart are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us. We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us.

“Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved.”

Bennett leaves behind daughter Harlow, six, who she shares with dancer and star of Footloose Kenny Wormald.
