One Direction star Liam Payne’s cause of death has been revealed one day after he fell from a balcony in Argentina.
Buenos Aires emergency services chief Alberto Crescenti confirmed the 31-year-old died instantly after fracturing his skull in the three-storey fall.
“Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life,” Mr Crescenti said.

Mr Crescenti refused to comment on whether alcohol or drugs may have played a part in Payne’s death, however, local media outlets are reporting white powder and burnt aluminium foil were seen in photos of his hotel room.
Police are believed to be looking for a drug dealer following the discovery.
Payne died on Wednesday evening after tragically falling from the third floor of his room into the hotel’s internal patio.
Just moments before his death, the local police station was called by the hotel manager who reported “an aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol”.
The 999 call made by the employee revealed the musician was acting erratically and posed a danger to himself.
A hotel reception staff member named “Esteban” made two calls to local police warning of the dire situation.
“We have someone who is under the influence of drugs and alcohol. When he’s conscious he is ripping up all of the room and we need you to send someone please.,” they said in the first call before the line went dead.
The staff member called back to say: “We need you to send someone urgently because I don’t know if there’s a risk to his life. He’s in a room which has a balcony and we’re a little worried.
“Just send an ambulance, only an ambulance,” they added.
