Tina Arena: Aussie music legend breaks silence on rape conviction of ex-husband Ralph Carr
The Aussie singer has finally spoken on Ralph Carr’s guilty verdict.
Australian music legend Tina Arena has broken her silence on ex-husband Ralph Carr’s recent rape conviction, after a jury found him guilty of rape and sexual assault of a woman at his home in 2023.
The well-known sports and entertainment figure had represented several high-profile artists and athletes, including singer Vanessa Amorosi, AFL champion Dustin Martin, and Arena herself in the 90s.
Attending the world premiere of her documentary Tina Arena: Unravel Me on Wednesday night, the 58-year-old singer spoke freely on the verdict to a Melbourne crowd during an audience Q&A.

“I also believe in karma. I believe in what you put out you get back.
“You reap what you sow, so now he’s reaping what he sowed.
“I believe that justice has been done and the right thing has happened.”
Carr was named as the Melbourne businessman who was found guilty of rape last month after three years of suppression orders were lifted by the County Court.
He and Arena were married from 1995-1999, with Carr managing the Chains singer in her early years as a performer.
Arena continued to praise the young victim, whose identity remains anonymous to the public, and thanked her for contacting authorities.
“I don’t know who the young lady that came forward is, I don’t know her name, I have never met her,” Arena said.
“My heart goes out to her, to her mum, her family for having the unbelievable courage to come forward in unbelievably complicated circumstances.
“Whoever you are darling, wherever you are, a big thank you, not only from me but a big thank you from a lot of people.”
Arena’s documentary received a standing ovation from fans, touching on her five decades in the music industry.
Earlier in the evening, prior to her documentary being played for the first time, she had dismissed interest in her ex’s case when approached by the Herald Sun.
“This is about me,” she told the outlet.
“I don’t care about him. Couldn’t give a s....”
