‘Yall got the dubbbb’: US rapper Travis Scott accidentally roasts Tame Impala over Dockers grand final result
Perth band and mad Dockers fans Tame Impala have friends in high places. The problem is, they know nothing about Australian sport.
American rap star Travis Scott has accidentally roasted Perth band Tame Impala after front man Kevin Parker shared highlights from the AFL grand final on social media.
Perhaps Freo’s most high profile supporter, and number one ticket holder, Parker was depicted in good spirits alongside his touring band mates at the MCG prior to bounce down.
He was also pictured jovially alongside retired Nat Fyfe, sharing a beer with the former Dockers superstar.

And no one told Travis Scott, who congratulated the Grammy winner on what he believed was a famous victory.
“Yalll did it. Houston to aus. And yall got the dubbbb,” Scott commented on the post.
What Scott had correctly observed was that Tame Impala concluded their US tour in Houston on September 20, leaving just a few days to fly across the world for the game.
However, clued-in fans were quick to correct his glaring faux pas, which may have rubbed salt into the wound for Dockers fans.
“Travis noooooo,” one said.
“Trav they lost bro,” another added.
One fan even suggested the SICKO MODE hitmaker may wish to acquaint himself with the game by becoming the entertainment.
“Goat they lost😂😂😂 come perform next year at the afl grand final,” they wrote.
The band did not appear to publicly respond to the comment.
As a melodic entrée to grand final day in Houston, Parker led his thousands-strong Texan crowd in a “Freo!” chant, though many would have been oblivious to the meaning behind it.
“Is this what you had us yelling Freo for?” an American fan commented.
Meanwhile, a dedicated Brazilian fan page for the band took the opportunity to express their love once for the performers once more.
“My love for you is like that love of yours for this team,” the account commented.
Tame Impala will begin the Australian leg of their Deadbeat Tour in Brisbane on October 9, concluding the national jaunt with two Perth shows at RAC Arena across October 24-25.
