His lawyer said the matter will be vigorously defended.

Nova Radio breakfast host Tim Blackwell has been served with an interim restraining order by his ex-wife Monique Blackwell.

A popular radio host has been slapped with an AVO following the breakdown of his 14-year marriage.

A court has granted an interim restraining order against Nova Radio presenter Tim Blackwell, 44, on behalf of his estranged wife, Monique.

The matter was heard in Newtown Local Court, with a magistrate ordering the breakfast host not to approach Monique Blackwell, from whom he separated from two years ago.

Tim’s lawyer said the matter will be vigorously defended at the next court date.

The pair share three children together: Bo, Alfie and Artie.

In a statement, his legal representative said “it appears the AVO is being used as a weapon as opposed to a shield.”

The interim order remains in place until the matter returns to court.
