Legendary radio broadcaster Ray Hadley has broken down on air after hearing his mum’s voice during his final moments on 2GB.

Hadley was called into the studio to spend the final hour of Ben Fordham’s breakfast show, to take calls and reminisce about his career before a package was played featuring highlights from his career in broadcasting.

“I said I wasn’t going to cry but you’ve done this to me you little bludger,” Hadley said to Fordham.

“I haven’t heard mum’s voice like that before and hearing that has set me off.

“Also hearing Darryl’s story about Claudia Schiffer brings back so many great memories,” Hadley added.

Hadley is broadcasting his last show on 2GB on Friday morning and will be hosting a range of friends and family to celebrate his career before handing over the reins to Mark Levy in 2025.
