Australia’s golden boy Robert Irwin is set to take centre stage at this year’s TV WEEK Logie Awards, with the wildlife conservationist and television personality announced as host of the ceremony in Sydney.

The 22-year-old’s star continues to rise both at home and abroad, following a breakout year that included winning the US version of Dancing With The Stars and expanding his growing television career.

Irwin said hosting Australian television’s night of nights was among the biggest opportunities of his career.

“Throughout my life, my goal has been to spread an important message not only through our work at Australia Zoo, but also on the screen,” he said.

“I grew up watching the Logies with my family, so this is certainly an honour.

“Australian television has given so much to so many people. To be part of the biggest night in Aussie TV is something I don’t take lightly. I cannot wait!”

While it marks his first time hosting the awards, Irwin is no stranger to Logies recognition.

He received his first Silver Logie nomination in 2013 at just nine years old and has since become one of Australia’s most recognisable television personalities.

In 2024, he was nominated for Most Popular Presenter for I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and made history as the youngest person ever nominated for the coveted Gold Logie, eventually losing out to veteran television host Larry Emdur.

Now, rather than competing for a trophy, Irwin will be tasked with steering the country’s biggest television celebration as Australia’s stars gather in Sydney for the annual awards ceremony.
