Spotify Wrapped day has arrived.

That annual moment when timelines explode in neon colours, and everyone suddenly becomes the main character of their own soundtrack. It’s the festive season of bragging rights, surprise obsessions and the occasional dose of mortifying self-awareness as millions of users unpack their most-played tracks, artists and albums of 2025.

But this year’s edition comes with a twist: a brand-new “listening age” feature designed to reveal the era your music taste is secretly living in.

Wrapped, now in its 10th year, has become something of a cultural ritual. Users proudly flash their stats across social media while reminiscing about the songs that defined their year, debating whether their results reflect their personality or simply their worst moments.

This year, Spotify has introduced “your listening age”, a playful attempt to calculate the era your ears are most attached to. The feature is based on the concept of a “reminiscence bump”, the theory that people often feel the deepest emotional connection to music they heard between the ages of 16 and 21.

So how does Spotify actually land on a number?

The streaming giant says it starts by scanning the release dates of everything you listened to during the year. From there, it identified the five-year period you engaged with more heavily than other listeners your age.

Spotify then “hypothesises” that this window represents your reminiscence bump and therefore your “listening age”.

This means, that if you are 25 blasting late 70s rock like you grew up at a Fleetwood Mac concert, Spotify may gently inform you that your “listening age” is 63.

In one of the examples shared by Spotify, a 48-year-old listener consumed more late ‘60s music than his peers, earning the “listening age” of 74.

“You’re an old soul,” Spotify told him.

Wrapped also revealed the most-streamed artists, songs and albums of 2025, reaffirming global listening habits across genres and generations.

  • Most-streamed artist: Bad Bunny (19.8 billion streams)
  • Most-streamed song: Die With a Smile, Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars (1.7 billion streams)
  • Most-streamed album: DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS by Bad Bunny
