Star of one of the world’s most-loved comedies has shared a devastating health diagnosis.
Lucy Davis shared a lengthy caption on an Instagram video of her ringing a bell inside a hospital, marking the end of her treatment.
The 53-year-old is best known for playing Dawn Tinsley on the UK version of the sitcom for all 14 episodes.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.Davis revealed on Wednesday that she was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer a year and a half ago, which has since metastasised to her bones; specifically her spine, right hip, and ribs.
“The cancer is incurable, and too late for chemo,” she wrote.
“As of now, I’m trying to live out whatever might be left of my life in as fun a way as I possibly can.
“I always like to find the teachable moments in anything negative that happens.
“And cancer has not disappointed in that regard; there’s a lot I have learned from it, and I’m grateful for that.”
Davis went on ot say that the thing that kept her going through her pain was humour.
The 53-year-old added that she has spent time using a wheelchair when standing and walking for too long becomes difficult.
“I asked my friends and family to make fun of me as much as possible (which they’re really good at), and most importantly of all to not treat me like a sick person,” she wrote.
“There’s nothing that will make you feel more unwell than being treated as if you’re unwell.
“I’m not scared of whatever comes next. I’m at peace with it.
“For me, leaving my physical body just means going home.
“Any and all grieving is for my family; it’s far harder for them than for me.”
The actor said she would continue her animal rights activism and acting, a job she said was “one of the biggest joys” of her life.
She used her health update as an opportunity to remind her 609,000 followers to “get everything checked”.
Davis said she initially brushed off the lump she felt, which she said was more like a “hard spot”.
The comments on her post were filled with big names like The Office co-star Ricky Gervais, Pierce Morgan, and Kiernan Shipka; all of whom offered their love and support to the actor.
Davis is also known for her roles in Garfield, Shaun of the Dead, and Wonder Woman.
