Tom Holland: Spider-Man actor rushed to hospital with concussion after stunt went wrong at Leavesden Studios

Tom Holland was rushed to hospital after a stunt on the set of the latest Spider-Man blockbuster went horribly wrong.

Several Hollywood trades including the Hollywood Reporter, Deadline and Variety separately confirmed the incident, which happened on set at Leavesden Studios in Watford in the UK on Friday.

It is believed he cracked his head in a fall while performing a stunt for Spider-Man: Brand New Day and was treated for a concussion.

A woman, thought to be a stunt double, was also taken to hospital in an ambulance according to News.com.

“We were called at 10.30am on Friday to attend to a patient who had sustained an injury at Leavesden Studios in Watford,” an East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said.

“An ambulance was sent to the scene, and the patient was transported to hospital for further care.”

Filming of the $300 million production was suspended at Leavesden Studios and could be on hold for weeks.

The 29-year-old attended a charity dinner in Mayfair the following evening with his father, Dominic, and his fiancee and co-star Zendaya, but he left early, feeling unwell.

Mr Holland’s father confirmed his son would be away from filming “for a while.”

The unfortunate fall could lead to an investigation by the Health and Safety Executive.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into cinemas in July 2026, marking Tom Holland’s fourth time donning the Spidey suit after his previous outings in Homecoming (2017), Far From Home (2019) and No Way Home (2021).

Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are set to reprise their roles, joined once again by Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner (the Hulk). The cast also features Jon Bernthal returning as the Punisher and Michael Mando stepping back in as the Scorpion.
