Avatar: The Last Airbender is getting a sequel series called Seven Havens
The beloved animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender is getting another sequel, Avatar: Seven Havens.
Set generations after the original 2005 series, Seven Havens hails from the creative team of Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, who created The Last Airbender.
In the timeline of the story, Seven Havens will take place in the same narrative universe, after the 2012 sequel The Legend of Korra.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.Nickelodeon has greenlit the series for 26 half-hour episodes across two seasons. The news comes on the 20th anniversary of The Last Airbender, which premiered on February 21, 2005.
DiMartino and Konietzko said in a statement, “When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later. This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery and a whole new cast of amazing characters.”
The original story took place in a mystical realm in which some people are gifted with telekinetic powers to manipulate one of the four elements. Twelve-year old Aang is the hero of the piece, and can manipulate all four elements, which makes him an “avatar”, and is charged with maintaining the harmony between warring nations.
Seven Havens has been described by Nickelodeon as set, “in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm. A young earthbender discovers she’s the new avatar after Korra – but in this dangerous era, that title marks her as humanity’s destroyer, not its saviour.
“Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and save Seven Havens before civilisation’s last strongholds collapse.”
The Last Airbender ran for three seasons and launched a franchise which also included the 2010 film written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan.
The Shyamalan version was widely panned for being joyless and incomprehensible. It holds a 5 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Last year, Netflix released a faithful live-action remake of the original animated series which was better received but largely failed to ignite the fandom.
There’s no release date for Seven Havens but it is currently in production.
Another animated feature following the characters of the 2005 series, called Aang: The Last Airbender, will be released in January 2026.
