Given the way Colin From Accounts ended season two on that cliffhanger, the show must have been pretty confident it was coming back for more.

That confidence was well-placed because the Australian comedy has confirmed season three is on the way.

Creators and stars Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer said in a statement, “We’re very excited to bring you season three of our show. To be honest, with the way we ended season two, it would’ve been weird not to make a third, so here we are.

“We promise we won’t leave you hanging like that again. Probably.”

There’s no timeline yet for when the new episodes will land but expect it to be later this year or early 2026.

Colin From Accounts has become one of the most successful stories in Australian TV in recent years. The rom-com series was a huge hit for Foxtel Group, which claimed it was across its platforms the most watched original scripted show of all time.

It has also found ardent fans around the world, especially in the UK and the US. Colin From Accounts was sold to 150 countries.

The renewal comes at a good time for Binge, which is facing significant headwinds after its licencing agreement with Warner Bros came to an end following the Australian launch of Warners’ direct-to-consumer streaming service, Max.

Foxtel and its sub-brands including Binge had been the Australian home of HBO programs such as Succession and Game of Thrones for many years, but those titles have now moved over to Max.

Not coincidentally, Binge has been offering heavy discounts on its subscription prices in an effort to retain customers.

Colin From Accounts is one of Binge’s signature original shows.

The series follows the story of Gordon and Ashley, whose unconventional meet-cute (she flashes her breasts at him on the street) results in the injury of a dog they later name Colin. Their mutual responsibility for Colin spark a romance.

The show is produced by Easy Tiger and CBS Studios.

Foxtel Group last week completed its $3.4 billion sale to sports streaming business DAZN, which is controlled by Ukrainian-British billionaire Len Blavatnik and in which Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund has a minority stake.

Given DAZN’s focus on sports streaming, there is speculation over Foxtel’s long-term interest in general entertainment.
