Unable to escape controversy off-screen, Rofe was found guilty of assaulting his girlfriend Kasey Williams in 2017, but later had the charges dropped after appealing.
Ms Claimed claimed she was attacked by Rofe in front of her two-year-old daughter at his Sydney property in late 2016.

Rofe spoke to 7NEWS in 2018 following the charges, saying he was afraid to begin a new relationship, and hoped to repair his reputation.
“I’m too scared to even go see women ‘cos I just feel with everything that’s happened, I just feel like I’m a target,” he told 7NEWS at the time.
