Six bidders huddled inside a lounge room to escape the pouring rain and battle it out for a post-war home in Brisbane’s Camp Hill.

The sellers got back in touch when it was time to sell and Ms Gianniotis said they were very happy with the result.
“They can’t believe the values have gone up so much,” she said.
A rare opportunity in the area, the buyer plans to remove the house and develop the allotment.
The property was sold without a price guide, with the sought-after location and large land-size being the biggest drawcards.
Out of the capital cities, Brisbane was the only one that witnessed a drop in auction volume, with 136 homes set for auction, down from 168 last week.
The preliminary clearance rate came in at 56 per cent, which was revised down to 52 per cent per cent on the final numbers.
Fullarton property sells $110,000 over reserve to keen downsizers
A three-bedroom home in Fullarton sold for $1.66 million under the hammer to downsizers who had only viewed the property for the first time three days prior.
The local couple saw 101 Fisher Street on Wednesday, and having recently sold their home, they were ready to go.
“They hadn’t seen the property over the last couple of weeks, but when they saw it they were really keen on it,” said Ouwens Casserly agent James Roberston. “They’re really excited now.”
Mr Roberston said the couple had family in the area, which helped them make the decision quickly.
Built in 2018, the property was in immaculate condition with a fully-equipped kitchen, solar power, double garage and tidy backyard.
Timing was in the favour of the sellers - a family looking to upsize - who are due to settle on their new home next week.
“It’s all coming together nicely for them,” said Mr Robertson. “They were very happy.”
Despite the early morning auction, the sellers were keen to celebrate the great result.
“They were having champagne already, I’m assuming they’re still celebrating now.”
There were 173 auctions scheduled in Adelaide, which was an increase from 117 the previous week.
The clearance rate was at 56 per cent.

In a fiercely competitive auction, downsizers sold their Duncraig home to a family looking to upsize.
9a Nicholli Street sold under the hammer for $1.35 million with five active bidders battling it out.
The modern three-bedroom home included many appealing features including a swimming pool, alfresco area, double garage, media room and chef’s kitchen.
Ray White lead agent and auctioneer Scott Langley said the seller built the house in 2019, and was now downsizing as a result of her kids finishing school.
In a display of life’s rhythm, the successful bidders were a family looking for their next move.
“The buyers are a lovely young family moving for a bigger home for their two daughters and better school catchments,” he said.
There were 10 auctions scheduled for Perth this weekend and the clearance rate was 43 per cent.
