McDonald’s is celebrating International Cheeseburger Day on Thursday by giving away free cheeseburgers to customers across Australia.

Although International Cheeseburger Day may not be on your calendar, for Macca’s it is going to be a big day.

“Aussies love a good cheeseburger – and what better way to celebrate International Cheeseburger Day than by giving one away for free to our biggest fans?” said Mary Vrancic, Senior Marketing Director at McDonald’s Australia.

“The Cheeseburger is one of our most loved and iconic menu items, and this one-day-only offer is our way of saying thanks to our loyal MyMacca’s customers.”

To score a free cheeseburger, Aussies will need to spend at least $1 through the MyMacca’s app.

The offer sadly excludes McDelivery, so those hoping to score a free burger will need to get to their local McDonald’s to join in on the celebration.

The give away is for Thursday September 18 only and comes with a limit of one free cheeseburger per customer.

For those not enticed by the free cheeseburger, Ms Vrancic promised there is “more to come”.

She said the giveaway is “just one example of how we’re delivering on our promise of great value - not just today, but every day”.

“Trust us - there’s more to come, so keep your eyes on the app,” she added.
