Just seven days after the historic $50 million Powerball prize was claimed by a WA couple, an Aussie has hit the bitter-sweet jackpot, but they won’t be crying over $5m.

After five weeks of not having anyone match the seven numbers and one Powerball, there has now been back-to-back winners who became instant millionaires — with this week’s Aussie still coming away a happy camper with $5,251,280.07 despite their prize not being a rolling jackpot.

Three players across the nation scored significant hauls worth more than $105,770 after matching seven winning numbers to secure the division two prize.

The winning numbers from draw #1540 were 19, 11, 12, 4, 29, 13, 27 and the Powerball was 20.

This draw’s winner comes following the WA couple that claimed the mammoth $50m last week, winning the highest amount in the State for 2025 off the back of a $28.20 ticket.

The Mandurah couple said while their day-to-day lives wouldn’t change immediately, more family time was in their plans for the future.

“I’ve always dreamed of being a stay-at-home dad and I can’t wait to make that a reality,” the winner said.

“Life with a toddler is very busy, so to be able to slow down and spend more quality time together will be very special.”

The millennial has revealed his family has no plans to buy a new property with his winnings, with the locals enjoying their life down in Mandurah.

“We love where we live so we don’t want to move, but we’ll probably get some new gutters and install ceiling fans around the house as well,” he said.
