The family home of 1954 Bulldogs Premiership player Doug Reynolds sold to a thrilled first-time auction buyer at the weekend.

The solid three bedroom two bathroom brick and tile home at 285 Francis Street, Yarraville — which 91 year old Reynolds has called home for decades — was snapped up by a young local woman.

Mr. Dean Stanley of Ray White Williamstown said that her intentions are to do renovations over time.

It didn’t take long for the property with plenty of potential and a fantastic footy history legacy to be called on the market.

“It was called on the market at $880,000 after some strong bidding. Bidding also came from a young family and a buyer’s advocate representing a young couple.”

The price realised was $965,000, over $50,000 more than the upper end of the quoted price range.

Given the coveted proximity to excellent parks and highly desirable Wembley Primary School in Yarraville, plus its development potential, it’s not surprising that such a great result was achieved for Reynolds.

“Mr. Reynolds’ family helped facilitate the sale. They’re very happy with the result.”
