After a decade of laughter, family milestones and good neighbours, comedian Joe Salanitri, one-third of beloved comedy trio Sooshi Mango, and his wife Georgina are saying goodbye to their Mount Waverley home.

The couple's three-bedroom unit at 1/50 Fairview Road is now on the market, with Ray White Judd White Group's Andrew Dimashki leading the sale.

Joe founded Sooshi Mango, the Italian-Australian comedy trio, with his brother Carlo Salanitri and friend Andrew Manfre.

The group has exploded in popularity since their viral 'Ethnic Dads' sketches first hit social media in 2015, capturing the quirks and chaos of multicultural Australian families with a particularly relatable sharp wit and silliness.

Today, Sooshi Mango are a bona fide phenomenon.

They've racked up over 2 million Instagram followers and 1.6 million on TikTok, while their live shows have sold out arenas across the country, including a record-breaking three-night run at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena.

Through it all, Joe has remained grounded, often crediting his family and upbringing for inspiring much of Sooshi Mango's material.

Their comedy, he's said, isn't about mocking Italian culture, it's about celebrating it.

Salanitri told the Newcastle Herald: "We laugh at the characters from that generation because they had funny quirks, but what we're really doing is paying homage to them and that era. They came to Australlia and they did everything they could to add to this land. They're proud people.

"We have a laugh, but they're the generation we respect the most."

The home has been the backdrop for countless memories, from the births of their children to moments that reflect the generosity of their neighbourhood.

"We have beautiful memories in the home, and it's the home where our kids were born, but we're a growing family and it was time for us to move on," Joe said.

One story stands out in particular. Joe recalls rushing his wife to hospital when she went into labour, only to be stopped by an elderly neighbour in need of help.

"The old man who lives on the corner, his wife fell and he wanted me to help pick her up, so I did," Joe said.

"When he realised that was the day my son was born, he's spoiled my son since then. He was a lovely old man and he looked after the whole street! It's a really lovely area."

That sense of connection, he adds, is what makes Mount Waverley special.

A perfect fit for young families

According to listing agent Andrew Dimashki, who sold the property to Joe ten years ago, the home is well suited to first-home buyers and young families looking for a move-in-ready home in a sought-after pocket.

"It's a fantastic property. It's a unit on a corner allotment, so it feels like its own home," Dimashki said.

"It's had a modern renovation with a new bathroom. It's single-level with a massive courtyard out the front."

He adds that the location is a major selling point.

"It's in an awesome position in Mount Waverley with awesome schools, close to public transport, and across the road from the golf club."

Now, with their family growing and their careers reaching new heights, the Salanitries are ready for their next move.

As Joe and Georgina look to the next chapter, they're hopeful the home will bring the same sense of joy to its new owners that it has given them.

"We have so many good memories with family and friends, and we hope the new owner will make some good memories as well," Joe said.
