Harry M. Miller's former South Coast acreage passed in at auction

A rural retreat on the NSW South Coast featuring a helipad and a working farm remains on the market after failing to sell at auction.
The six-bedroom residence, located near Gerringong and Berry, was originally designed and built by the late publicist, promoter and media personality Harry M. Miller.

The property, offering eye-catching views over Seven Mile Beach and to Pigeon House Mountain, was initially for sale with a price guide of $9 million.
The property went to auction this week.
Ray White Gerringong's Neil Campbell said the home was passed in with a vendor's bid of $8.2 million.
Mr Campbell said there were interested buyers who had watched the auction online but not taken part, and others who were planning to inspect the property in the coming days.
"We'll see what happens from there," he said. "There will be a price [guide] on it [in the near future]."

Cotality records show the home was previously sold in September 2021 for $8 million.
Records also show Miller, who utilised the property as a weekender, bought it in 1994 for $320,000 and sold it in 2005 for $2.625 million.
The main residence features five bedrooms, one being a private loft room, plus a detached self-contained one-bedroom studio, offering either a six-bedroom extension to the main house or a holiday letting opportunity.
Current owner Craig Taylor, who lives in Manly with his partner and son, said they had initially sought a weekend escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
"We were drawn to the South Coast of NSW for its lush green countryside, rolling dairy hills, pristine ocean and dramatic escarpments," Mr Taylor said.
"Our key requirements were simple - within two hours of Sydney, close to the coast, private, and with breathtaking views."

Since taking ownership, Mr Taylor and his family have made significant improvements to the property.
This includes replacing all fencing, undertaking extensive land care, restoring pastures, upgrading roads, and adding the helicopter pad.
"A change in family circumstances now means we can't enjoy the property as often as before," Mr Taylor said.
Each room is oriented to maximise the outlook, while the infinity-edge pool and firepit provide the ideal setting to take in sunsets over the steep slope.
There is also a separate, fully renovated, two-bedroom caretaker's cottage adjacent to the property entry.
Mr Taylor said the property was truly unique.
"The views are truly mind-blowing, and I think it would be fair to say are likely the best, most uninterrupted, dramatic and up close views from a rural property anywhere in the region," he said.
