NRL icon Wally Lewis spotted house-hunting in Brisbane's Bayside

Rugby league royalty Wally Lewis has turned heads off the field - this time in Brisbane's bayside - after being spotted inspecting a luxury coastal home in Wynnum over the NRL Grand Final weekend.
The Queensland legend, affectionately known as "The King," was seen at 50 Prospect Street, Wynnum, a high-end coastal property listed with Karen Chappell of Place Bulimba, just hours before the NRL Grand Final kicked off.
Locals were delighted when the Maroons icon and his wife joined the Saturday open home, spending more than an hour touring the property and taking in its sweeping ocean views.

"There were about 10 groups through, but everyone's attention was on the stunning views - and of course, Wally and his wife," Ms Chappell said. "He was so friendly, chatting to everyone and soaking up those views. You could tell he loved it."
Lewis, who has long been open about his love of the water, reportedly told the agent the view was so breathtaking it'd be hard to put a price on it.
While Chappell didn't confirm whether the State of Origin great is planning to buy, she said the Wynnum and Manly area was an ideal match for someone like Lewis.
"With the water, the views and the lifestyle, Wynnum and Manly have never been more desirable," she said. "It's the perfect spot for someone who clearly loves being near the ocean."
Perched high on one of Wynnum's most elevated streets, the dual-level home has been meticulously renovated to showcase panoramic ocean vistas. The 409-square-metre property boasts a 17-metre heated magnesium mineral lap pool, travertine bathrooms, lush tropical landscaping, and expansive indoor-outdoor living spaces.
The home will go under the hammer at Place's flagship auction event, The Day, on October 25, with dozens of properties set to sell across Brisbane.
Sam Kelso, Auctioneer and Principal of Place One Group, said the home has been a standout since hitting the market.
"Buyer activity is thriving across Brisbane right now," Kelso said. "When you combine a home like this with a view like that, it's no wonder footy legends are showing interest."
