A Thirroul home with an eye-catching array of features has the potential to smash the sale price record for the popular northern suburb.

The home at 9 Tasman Parade, Thirroul has a price guide of $8 million-plus.

Sitting on 740 square metres, the four-bedroom beachside home has ocean and escarpment vistas, and beach access at its doorstep.

It also features multiple living zones; shadow line joinery, engineered oak floors, v-joint panelled walls and sandstone accents; a lap pool/spa area; games room/rumpus area; and resort-style leisure facilities with a 20-metre lap pool, custom modified basketball court, spa and gym.

Records show the home last sold in 2011 for $1,050,000. The current owners undertook a knockdown rebuild, with no expense spared.

“It was a basic three-bedroom home, a beach cottage,” the current owner said of the previous home.

“We were aiming to create a beautiful family home... To live in a beautiful seaside home with everything you could imagine that you would need at your fingertips.

“We believe we’ve accomplished that.”

The owner said the views were among the home’s best features, while the custom basketball court was included for her sports enthusiast children.

“We were building this to be our forever home, that was the plan,” she said.

“But we ultimately decided this is the next chapter for us, so we decided to put it on the market and see what happens.”

The couple are ultimately selling in order to downsize. “It’s a massive home... It was perfect for us, but we have two sons who have finished school and are pursuing their sporting dreams,” the seller said.

“It would be the perfect weekender or family home for another beautiful family.

“It’s an entertainer’s delight. And we’ve designed it so we could live on a level, and our boys could live on a level. It’s a perfect family home.

“Thirroul is a beautiful place to live — great restaurants, beaches, a great community. Not only does the house have some great features, but it’s in a great place to live.”

Selling agent, Kane Downie from One Agency said this “magnificent” home has been attracting buyer interest locally, as well as from Sydney, Canberra and international buyers.

“Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and we currently have two parties making offers,” he said.

“Thus far the offers have exceeded price points previously locally achieved, and interest continues to gather.

“It has been one of the most inquired properties we have ever had. Given its location to the water and the privacy it offers, this home satisfies many buyers’ needs for an immaculate, well-built oasis.

“We anticipate a record price on this home.”
