Considered a sister building to the Queensland Cultural Centre, the concrete and glass masterpiece is surrounded by trees and features sweeping river views.

Built in the early 1970s, the listing states the home offers "exceptional potential for restoration or transformation."

Spread over three levels, the brutalist-style home features five bedrooms, three bathrooms, multiple living zones, and secure parking for two cars.

Despite only being on the market for three weeks, Place listing agent, Josh Shanley, said he has received inquiries in the hundreds.

"I've never had that amount of interest on any other property ever. It's just been insane."

Purchased by the current owners in 1987, the property served as a beloved family home for over 18 years.

Despite its dilapidated condition, including a lack of flooring and no kitchen, Mr Shanley insisted that the structure of the property is "extremely sound."

"We've got a full engineers report and it's extremely sound," he said. "There's a little water damage, as you'd expect, but nothing structural, it's all cosmetic.

"Considering it hasn't really been looked after for the last 10 years, it's in very good nick. It's built like a fortress."

Thought of as a Brisbane architectural icon, the lack of liveability and move-in readiness has not deterred buyers, in fact it has intrigued them.

"The fact that it's uninhabitable kind of adds that level of mystery around it," said Mr Shanley.

Since it was placed on the market, Mr Shanley has been fielding inquiries from all around the world.

"Literally everywhere. There's a lot of local interest, but we've had interest from the Netherlands, the UK, Dubai, and a bit of southern interest as well."

The property is located within a desirable Brisbane school zone, and moments away from Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, train station and the University of Queensland.

It is also in close proximity to two golf courses, a vibrant local cafe scene and riverfront parks.

42 Ivy Street, Indooroopilly is currently listed for sale by Josh Shanley and Drew Davies from Place. The property is for sale by private treaty.
