Headaches for Jetstar customers as systems go down

Kiosk and baggage drop facilities went offline in Melbourne.

Jetstar customers faced long lines as technical difficulties hit the airline at a number of Australian airports on Thursday morning.

Check-in and bag drop systems went offline for some time, with staff left to manually check in each customer and process their baggage.

Long lines were documented at Melbourne Airport, although 7NEWS understands the issue affected a number of locations.

“Our check-in and bag drop facilities are operating normally again,” Jetstar later said.

“We thank customers for their understanding and patience earlier this morning as our teams worked to check them in manually for their flights.”

Systems have now been restored and no flights were delayed due to the outage.
