Explainer: Full list of Australian Labor Party factions and politicians aligned to them

The Australian Labor Party is built on a complex decision-making structure, which is divided along state and factional allegiances between left and right.
Political success from the first to the upper rungs of Government is guided by Federal and State powerbrokers who work by factional quotas and weightings in each State to choose who can run for office and to sway frontbench portfolio allocations and policy decisions.
The more MPs a faction has elected, the greater their number in caucus and thus their influence.
