Six current or former politicians are under investigation by the national anti-corruption watchdog.

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) revealed the investigations on Wednesday — but did not disclose the MPs’ identities or any details of their alleged conduct.

The NACC has been publishing weekly updates since it opened last July but this was the first time the watchdog has confirmed parliamentarians are being pursued.

The conduct of three current or former political staffers is also being probed.

The NACC is charged with investigating cases of serious or systemic corrupt conduct within the Commonwealth public sector, which includes politicians, staff, government agencies and contractors.
