Police arrest man after ‘volatile explosive materials’ found at property in Adelaide
The police bomb response unit attended the scene and identified ‘volatile explosive materials’.

A man is set to face court after explosive materials were seized by police in a home in Adelaide’s northern suburbs.
On Thursday evening, officers attended a property in Waytown St in Elizabeth Park, where they said they found potentially explosive chemicals and cannabis plants.
After the chemicals were assessed, SAPol’s bomb response unit also attended the scene and identified “volatile explosive materials”.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.An occupant of the property, a 55-year-old man from Elizabeth Park, was then arrested and charged with a string of offences.
These were; possessing supplies for the manufacture of explosives, possessing explosive instructions, cultivating cannabis and possessing cannabis.
The suspect did not apply for bail following his arrest and is due to appear in Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Friday afternoon.
Following the alleged discovery, the premises was secured overnight and the road closed to all traffic while safe removal of the explosives is carried out.
An SAPol spokesman said investigations were ongoing, but there is no current threat to neighbouring properties.
