The sun was shining, democracy sausages were sizzling, dogs were out in force, and some voters were even sporting Budgy Smugglers, as Aussies took to the polls for the Federal election.
Primary schools and halls across the country were packed with campaigners, pollies and voters exercising their democratic rights, as Australia decided who will be the next Prime Minister of our great country.
Vandalism to campaign material and signs of Opposition Leader Peter Dutton with a blond wig depicting US President Donald Trump were also spotted, as rival parties hit out at each other.

This election is especially consequential due to a tightly contested race, with cost-of-living pressures, affordable housing, and energy policy dominating the campaign. Most polls predict a narrow Labor victory but the result could also lead to a hung parliament, showing the growing influence of independents and minor parties.
