Donald Trump posts AI generated image of himself as Jesus Christ after attacking Pope Leo
Just hours after US President Donald Trump called Pope Leo ‘weak’, he posted an AI-generated image of himself as Jesus Christ.
US President Donald Trump has posted an image of himself as Jesus Christ on social media just hours after he condemned Pope Leo’s criticism of his war with Iran.
Mr Trump took to Truth Social with an AI generated image of himself as Jesus Christ barely two hours after he called Pope Leo XIV “weak” and called on him to “get his act together”.
The image shows the US President, decked out in white, seemingly healing a sick man, his hands holding the light of the heavens.

But above him isn’t just a glowing sky, but a US flag, soaring eagles, a fleet of warships mid-flight, and a collection of “angel” soldiers.
Earlier on Monday (AEST), Mr Trump posted a lengthy attack against Pope Leo’s views on the Iran war, his attack in Venezuela and his general political standing.
“Pope Leo is WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy,” he wrote on Truth Social.
“I don’t want a Pope who thinks it’s OK for Iran to have a Nuclear Weapon.
“I like his brother Louis much better than I like him, because Louis is all MAGA.
“And I don’t want a Pope who criticizes the President of the United States because I’m doing exactly what I was elected, IN A LANDSLIDE, to do, setting Record Low Numbers in Crime, and creating the Greatest Stock Market in History.”
Mr Trump went on to say that he thought Pope Leo should be “thankful” for all he has done.
“If I wasn’t in the White House, Leo wouldn’t be in the Vatican,” he wrote.
Though Pope Leo is the first US-born man to take up the post, Mr Trump has told reporters that he is not a “big fan”. In his Truth Social post he claimed Pope Leo needed to stop catering to the “radical left”.
It comes after Leo called for an end to the US-Iran war in his strongest comments since the conflict began.
Speaking at St Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City on Saturday, Leo offered a prayer of peace to counter the “delusion of omnipotence that surrounds us”.
He told world leaders: “To them we cry out: stop! It is time for peace! Sit at the table of dialogue and mediation – not at the table where rearmament is planned and deadly actions are decided.”
Though Leo avoided naming Mr Trump, or his defence secretary Pete Hegseth, it was clear that they were among the batch of world leaders he was addressing.
In the past, Leo has openly criticised Mr Trump’s own logic, saying that it is difficult to understand how the US president could be anti-abortion but stand behind the “inhuman treatment of immigrants in the United States”.
The US president’s version of Christianity has been hugely criticised around the world. Mr Trump even endorsed his own version of the Bible, called God Bless the USA Bible.
The book is an anthology of texts, including the King James version of the Bible alongside the US Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence and Pledge of Allegiance.
When it was first released in 2024 as part of Mr Trump’s election campaign, it was sold like merchandise. It was later revealed that he made at least $2 million of sales in 2024 alone.
Back when Mr Trump was elected for his first term in 2016, Pope Francis was critical of him, and his proclamation of Christianity.
