Outlook outage: Microsoft email users report problems with provider after major US outage

Almost 6000 users were impacted in the US and now Aussies are being hit, too.

A major outage impacting Outlook users overseas appears to have now hit Australians.

On Downdetector.com, 68 users had reported problems with the email provider as of 9.28am (AEST) on Monday.

Of those, 43 per cent said they had problems receiving messages.

Another 27 per cent reported issues with the apps, while 19 per cent said it was difficulties logging in they were experiencing.

It is unclear where the users were based in the country.

The minor outage comes after thousands of US users experienced issues with Microsoft Outlook on Monday.

At its peak, almost 6000 users had logged issues with Downdetector in the US.

They were experiencing the same issues as the Australian users.

As of Tuesday morning Australian time, more than 2000 users continued to report problems.

On X, Microsoft wrote that they were aware of the issues related to Exchange Online functionality and were working to rectify the problem.

Microsoft Australia has been contacted for comment.
