AFL champion Dyson Heppell marries long-time partner Kate Turner in stunning wedding

Essendon champion Dyson Heppell has finally tied the knot with long-time partner Kate Turner in a magical wedding over the wedding.

The happy couple exchanged vows at Barunah Plains winery, which is about 90 minutes west of Melbourne, surrounded by friends and family.

Heppell retired last year after 253 games with the Bombers across 14 years, including a six-season stint as captain.

Former teammates Darcy Parish, Sam Durham, Sam Draper and Ben Hobbs were among those to attend.

But the special honour of ring bearer was given to youngster Harrison Pennicott, also known as H-man, who has formed a close relationship with Heppell.

Pennicott, who looked dapper in a white shirt with black bow-tie, is battling a rare skin and auto-immune disease called scleroderma.

He also joined in the celebrations later in the night by singing at the after party.

The couple shared a series of photos of the magical day.

“Are you kidding!!! What an all-time weekend 🤍 Also my wife is a 10 @kate_et THE TURNER-HEPPELLS,” Dyson posted on Instagram.

Friends and former teammates flooded the comments, while there was special praise for young Harrison.

“Looks so fabulous…& H Man as ring bearer…my heart is full & smiling! You are both amazing people ❤️❤️❤️” one person said in the comments.

Heppell wore a tradition black tuxedo before changing into a white jacket for celebrations, while Turner stunned in a white gown by Marquise Ateliér.

Heppell proposed in December 2022 after the couple had been together for 12 years.

“Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day and couldn’t ask for a more perfect fiance to spend the rest of my life with,” he posted at the time.
