Reid speaks

The Dockers have found a Reid of their own and he says he can’t wait to get to Perth.

“It looks like it’s going to be a great lifestyle over there, so I’m looking forward to it,” he said on Fox Footy.

Pick 17 (Fremantle)

Fremantle have made Murphy Reid their first pick.

He will add to their midfield talent pool and was ranked as a top-10 talent.

He brings powerful run and endurance to the game and is a good ball hunter.

He’s not the fastest but Fremantle will be happy to get him at pick 17.

Allan speaks

Allan revealed his nerves were getting the better of him as the Eagles made a trade but he is thrilled to stay in Perth.

“I’m over the moon and so stocked,” he said on Fox Footy.

Pick 16 (West Coast)

The Eagles finally make their selection - after hurting the Dockers by allowing Port to steal Joe Berry from under their noses - with Bo Allan joining the nest.

The Peel Thunder product has plenty of versatility, playing WAFL as a defender who runs through the middle while dominating in the Under 18s through the engine room.

Scouts love his leadership ability and he will likely slot straight into the Eagles’ best 22.

He played in Peel’s preliminary final and grand final.

Pick 15 (Port Adelaide)

The Power have selected local talent Joe Berry at Pick 15.

The forward has a good kick and is known for his agility as well as his goal sense.

Also pegged as a hard worker, helping him bolt up the list.

Eagles trade

The Eagles were taking their time and then did a trade with Port.

West Coast gets picks 16 and 45 for giving up 15.

The Eagles must be sure the Power don’t want Bo Allan.

Aaron Kirby

Pick 14 (Richmond)

Richmond used up their full clock to land on Jonty Faull at Pick 14.

He is a bolter and a key forward that will fill the void for the Tigers.

He is a big marking target that can also get the ball to ground for the small forwards.

It also means Bo Allan is still an option for West Coast who have the next pick.

Aaron Kirby

Pick 13 (Essendon)

Richmond gets another pick and selects Isaac Kako.

However, the talented small forward is an Essendon academy player, and with the new rules, they get to match the bid.

The Bombers gave up pick nine to get enough late selections to nab their man but it could prove fruitful.

They will likely seek a trade to get some more picks for this year.

Kako has been identified as the clear leading small forward talent in the draft.

Aaron Kirby

Pick 12 (Richmond)

Richmond has taken Taj Hotton!

The late mail was the Eagles were eager to take him.

He was one of the hottest talents in the pool but ruptured his ACL at training and missed much of the season.

He is still in recovery but with the Tigers having eight top-20 selections, they can afford to take the punt.

Are Richmond saving the Eagles from themselves?

On the flip side, he has extreme speed and cruises in high gear but whether that remains after he recovers is to be seen.

Aaron Kirby

Pick 11 (Melbourne)

Melbourne dip their toe back into the midfield pool to snap up Xavier Lindsay.

The left-footer is known for his kicking and can play inside and out in midfield.

He was another one the Eagles were lightly linked to early and has been likened to Liam Duggan.

There are wraps on his mental attributes and he could be a future leader.
