AFL Finals 2025 live: Minor premiers Adelaide take on Collingwood for a shot at the preliminary final

Finals footy is here as minor premiers Adelaide take on Collingwood to kick off September action.
Can the Crows defend their home in their finals since 2017, having dominated the home and away season?
They won an arm wrestle in the penultimate round of the home and away season over the Pies, despite Collingwood dominating the stats sheet.
The Pies have brought back Mason Cox while a sore-looking Nick Daicos was cleared fit to play, and they will need to lean on their September experience at a hostile Adelaide Oval.

Trouble for De Goey
He may have a nervous wait this week.
End of Q3 Collingwood 10.11 (71) Adelaide 8.4 (52)
That kick keeps the Crows in it who were looking dead and buried as Collingwood kicked seven straight goals.
But they finish with the last three to at least keep them alive though they can’t afford any more mistakes.
Top for players all Pies in De Goey, Long Daicos and Elliott but if the Crows can give their forwards a chance there’s a path to victory.
Thilthorpe with a huge goal
He’s been double teamed most of the night but in a one on one in time on he takes a strong mark.
From 40m out on the angle his kick his good and it brings the margin back to 19 points.
The crowd is back alive.
Pedlar with another
He’s keeping the Crows alive as he nails the shot from the tight angle.
If the Crows can get one more before the siren they’ll leave themselves with a sniff.
They activate their sub Mitch Hinge out Brodie Smith in
Luke Pedlar stops the rot
One on one has to take the mark and he does and even keeps his feet to play on goal and break the run of seven straight goals.
They need alot more of that.
Six in a row
Isaac Quaynor is burning the PIes here as he’s involved again in another turnover.
His kick into the middle is sumptuous and just as the Crows look like they’ll survive Lachie Schultz comes from nowhere to lay a massive tackle.
Ball gets to Elliott, who kicks his third.
This game is done.
Sidebottom has a third!
Another centre clearance win and Sidebottom is the man again as he collects the loose ball off Cox’s hand and the left foot snap makes it a 23 point game.
Sidebottom hasn’t kicked three goals in a final for 15 years some stat.
COL 8.7 (55) ADE 5.1 (31)
De Goey with a ripper
Another clearance win and the balls locked in again. Crows try to get it out through hands but the move breaks down as the Pies lay tackle after tackle.
They win the ball back and get it to De Goey who snaps the goal to make it four straight for the Pies.
COL 7.7 (49) ADE 5.1 (31)
Pies with the hot start again
They lock the ball in after the clearance win, and Reily O’Brien’s effort to header the ball out of the ruck doesn’t work as it falls to Sidebottom who snaps his second.
De Goey speaks
He had a monster second quarter.
“I just put my head over it to be honest,” he said.
“Fly’s message was to just get the ball forward and give our forwards a chance.
