How sizzling Shai gave Freo a historic start
End of Q1 Fremantle 6.2 (38) Geelong 2.1 (13)
A frenetic first quarter sees loud cheers from the home fans as the Dockers piled on six first-quarter goals in a commanding first quarter.
Bolton had two inside the first 90 seconds and Freo never took their foot off the gas as they were electric with ball in hand.
The Cats were stunned and will need a huge reset to try and come back in this one.
Cats finally get a reprieve
Mitch Edwards, who’s back on the ground, kicks nicely from the boudnary to find Oliver Wiltshire.
From 20m out on a slight angle, he slots it and gives the Cats a much-needed boost.
FRE 6.2 (38) GEE 2.1 (13)
Mason Cox makes it six!
He just loses his man in the goalsqaure and takes an uncontested mark 15m out directly in front of goal.
He absolutely gives it to Jack Henry afterwards as well.
FRE 6.2 (38) GEE 1.1 (7)
Voss has two
He’s on 50 but he runs around the mark with the Cats defender not quite ready for it and he boots it through.
That’s five first quarter goals for the Dockers as the Cats look shellshocked.
FRE 5.2 (32) GEE 1.1 (7)
The Dockers are so fast
It’s the polar opposite to last week Fremantle are absolutely rapid with ball in hadn the Cats are struggling to breathe at the moment.
The pressure is immense and the crowd is right on top of them as well and Geelong will be desperate to get to the break without further damage.
Frederick finishes off another
Great win off half back and despite a scrub kick from Murphy Reid it finds Bolton who goes to Dudley.
Initially the Cats defend well but Jye Amiss comes through with a great one handed pick up on the loose ball and fires off the handball to Frederick who kicks it straight through the middle.
FRE 4.0 (24) GEE 1.0 (6)
Dangerfield with a ripper!
Wow that’s some finish.
Geelong finally in a clearance and then win the 50/50 ball on the wings.
Blicavs sends it forward where Dagnerfield gets a handball on the boundary and he takes a a couple steps and wraps it round to kick it from 50.
Cats ruck Mitch Edwards is off the ground with what looks like a hand injury, a possible dislocation.
FRE 3.0 (18) GEE 1.0 (6)
The Prancing pony continues blistering start
Turnover at half back and Brayshaw evades Bailey Smith and the Dockers are out.
Kick iunside 50 finds Pat Voss all alone and he boots through his first and lets out a massive roar.
The dream start conintues.
FRE 3.0 (18) GEE 0.0 (0)
BOLTON LIGHTS UP OPTUS
Another cenrtre clearance win and Jackson gos to Bolton who goes around three players at half forward.
Runs onto 50 and launches it through for his second goal in a minue and the Purple Army is in in full voice early
