AFL: West Coast return to Optus in celebration of 40 years of AFL history and 20 years since their historic 2006 flag, with a win against Richmond non-negotiable.

The Eagles are under massive pressure after a month of thrashings, including a 101-point mauling against St Kilda last weekend.

Richmond comes into the game without a win but will see this clash as their best chance to sing the song for the first time in 2026 with all the pressure on the Eagles.

He’s slightly lucky to win a blocking free about 30m out from goal.

His accuracy ha been the issue but he works this one back late and that will setlle the nerves.

West Coast started hot but couldn’t take advantage as Richmond flooded numbers back in defence.

Both teams have been guilty of coughing the ball up but the Eagles turnovers have been in worse positions as the Tigers have been quick in transition.

Matt Owies has been the surprising star for the Eagles with seven touches and a goal but had a shot after the siren that fell short.

Liam Duggan looks under the pump by Mykelti Lefau while Jack Ross is dominant out of the middle.

That’s a club record 18 quarters lost in a row for the Eagles.

Lefau gets Tigers’ third

Eagles hemmed in and Duggan gives away a holding free kick as he loses his footing.

He converts to push Richmond to a 7-point lead.

Eagles continue to butcher the ball

Harry Schoenberg misses the target under no pressure in the middle.

Reuben Ginbey then turns it over in D50 allowing Tyler Sonsie a shot on goal but he hits the post.

Prestia is done. Cole is injured

The Richmond veteran has done a calf. Tom Cole is also hurt and is being helped off the ground.

Matt Owies continues his hot start

He’s the leader possession getter on the ground for the Eagles.

He leads into the pocket where Kelly finds him and he takes a strong mark.

He snaps truly around the corner to put the Eagles back in front.

Richmond counterattack again

West Coast have the outnumber but Josh Lindsay misses the handball and Richmond have a three on one running on goal.

Jonty Faull goes the chip kick but it bounces through on goal anyway.
