AFL star Jacob Weitering and partner Isabel pull off ‘surprise wedding of the year’
Carlton fan favourite Jacob Weitering has married partner Isabel in a surprise wedding on Friday.
The couple went public two days after the biggest celebration of their lives at Quat Quatta in Melbourne.
Blues teammate Sam Docherty and wife Natalie played an important role and described it as “the best day”.

“Honoured to share in your special day.”
Isabel replied: “Couldn’t have done it without you.”
Weitering’s former teammate Zac Fisher and wife Bella, who pulled off their own four-week wedding earlier this year, were also in attendance.
The surprise Weitering wedding took place five months after they were engaged.
The milestone also arrived after the star defender signed a monster six-year contract extension with the Blues last month.
The celebration in Melbourne followed a busy week with two AFL weddings taking place in Bali.
“What a perfect day,” Sam Powell-Pepper and wife Brya wrote.
“Cant wait to spend the rest of our lives together.”
Powell-Pepper’s Port Adelaide teammate and close family friend Jeremy Finlayson and wife Kellie were both in the wedding party.
The Powell-Peppers’ daughters Frankie and Billie were also on hand for the occasion.
In one video, Powell-Pepper was overcome with emotion waiting for his bride then seen joyfully picking up his daughter after the ceremony.
He kicked off the late-night celebrations by popping a bottle of champagne in the darkness.
A footy made its way onto the dance floor while Powell-Pepper was pictured partying shirtless as the night wore on.
Essendon’s Jayden Laverde also married his partner Abbey in Bali.
“Legal 04.02.24 butttt official 04.11.24,” Abbey wrote.
Sam Draper, Jye Caldwell, Matt Guelfi, Nik Cox and Sam Durham were among the teammates to make the trip.
