AFL Trades: Liam Baker, Shai Bolton, Daniel Rioli all still deal board after day five
The AFL trade period reaches day five and, remarkably, will still only have two deals done.
But, early inaction should hopefully lead to a trade blitz.

Hawks make a massive move
Tom Barrass and Liam Baker deals are now up in the air.
Carlton swap picks
Brisbane have got more late draft picks with a swap with Carlton
Swans hold firm over Parker
Sydney have rejected North’s second offer for Luke Parker.
The Swans reportedly want a second round pick from the Roos.
Hawks making moves
AFL.com.au’s Cal Twomey reports Hawthorn are shopping around their pick No.14 which was the starting point for the Tom Barrass trade.
Could change the whole outlook of how that deal looks.
WE HAVE A TRADE!
Brisbane has swapped with Richmond to top up their points for father-son and academy selections by giving up their first-round pick (currently pick No.20)
Oliver’s cleared out his locker
The Clayton Oliver situation is a mess and represents nothing less than the total breakdown of relationships between club and player.
“There’s reports over the last 24 hours that he still wants out despite Melbourne saying they’re not trading him,” Matthew Lloyd said on 3AW.
“A lot of people believe that he’s cleaned out his locker and he’s willing to take a pay cut, he just doesn’t want to go back there.
“He’s got to lift his act, but he believes he’s been shopped around. It’s been reported that Gary Pert, the CEO, was shopping him around and he’s lost trust in them.
“They’re in trouble. They’ve really fallen apart.”
Hawks provide update on Barrass
“Mark McKenzie and Matty Clarke are in constant dialogue and the conversations are collaborative but we are not there yet.” Hawthorn GM of football Rob McCartney said on Trade Radio
“We’d like to think we can continue to work to find that common ground and bring Barrass to the Hawks.”
Tim Membrey still in limbo
The veteran Saints forward is without a deal next year and has been linked to a move to Brisbane or North Melbourne.
St Kilda football boss David Mision says the club won’t be rushing into a decision over his future.
Brisbane won’t stand in the way of Roberston
As the Eagles stick tough over Tom Barrass, Brisbane are more than happy to help Deven Robertson find a new home.
The Lions are looking for late picks to cover points for academy and father-son prospects so he could come on the cheap, though it’s no guarantee he ends up at West Coast.

McQualter happy to keep Barrass
New West Coast coach Andrew McQualter says he’s happy to hold wantaway defender Tom Barrass to his contract if Hawthorn can’t meet their trade demands.
Speaking on SEN this morning McQualter said Barrass was a club champion and he’d be happy to keep him.
He also touched on Harley Reid after having dinner with the teenage sensation last night.
