Nick Daicos has heaped praised on young Bulldog star Sam Darcy after the key forward kicked four goals in the nail-biting loss to the Pies.

Daicos, who had 39 touches and nine clearances, was instrumental in Collingwood’s come-from-behind win after they found themselves down by as many as 22 points in the first half.

Darcy, the son of legendary Bulldog Luke, booted three first half goals and a crucial final quarter major as the Bulldogs rallied from a eight-point deficit at three-quarter time to get within a goal of the pies late in the game.

Daicos said “big Sammy Darcy” was “absolutely dominating the game” early on.

“You find yourself at times in awe of what he can do out on the football field,” he told Channel Seven of the 21-year-old after the match.

“Just in awe of what he can do … It’s going to be scary for years to come.”

The 22-year-old Collingwood star also said another son of a Bulldogs legend, Tom Liberatore, had an outstanding game after racking up 34 disposals of his own and also having nine clearances.

“He’s unbelievable. You think he’s wrapped up, but he just finds a way, he is so strong,” Daicos said.

“Quite amazing watching him go to work in the clearance.”

Daicos said he couldn’t “speak highly enough of my teammates” after the gritty win.

“Amazing spectacle of game, fortunately the result of the game fell our way,” he said.
