And the panel of Andy Maher, Mick Molloy and Sam Pang are also set to revel in Simpson’s decade-long stint at West Coast, where he steered the powerhouse club to two grand finals, including its famous 2018 premiership triumph.

It is Simpson’s first appearance as a guest on the popular light-hearted show.

The long-time coach is the second Eagles great to star on the show this season, weeks after Brownlow medallist Ben Cousins was a hit, sharing stories from his early days at the club.

Simpson and the Eagles parted ways with seven rounds remaining this season and he was replaced by assistant coach Jarrad Schofield, who served as an interim.

The club’s search for a new coach now appears likely to stretch deep into September, with many of its leading contenders locked in finals action until at least the second-last week of the season.
